November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month!
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide and deserves attention. Approximately 15% of all lung cancers are Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC), which is the most aggressive form of lung cancer. Unfortunately SCLC is most often discovered once it has already reached an extensive stage. SCLC is strongly associated with smoking (98%) although non-smokers can also be affected. There are an estimated 250,000 new SCLC cases globally each year.
We urge anyone with possible symptoms of lung cancer to take care of yourself and get checked.
